At Hotel The Champs, we see our hotel as more than just a place to stay—it’s a vibrant part of the community! That’s why our owners, Hans and Lise, have dedicated the last 16 years to being actively involved in the Rotary Club of Portsmouth, partnering on various projects that truly make a difference.

As a proud sponsor of Rotary Club Portsmouth, we’re all about supporting initiatives that spark positive change on our beautiful island. Over the years, the Rotary Club has rolled up its sleeves for several uplifting projects in our local communities, and we feel honored to play a part in this journey.

One of the most exciting projects happening right now is the transformation of a donated shipping container into a fully functioning library for a local school. This wonderful initiative will give children access to books and learning materials, nurturing their love for reading and education. Plus, thanks to a grant secured by the club, a new playground was installed at the same school, providing safe and fun spaces for kids to play and grow.

Caring for the environment is also high on the list for Rotary Club Portsmouth. On World Rivers Day, our dedicated Rotary members gathered to plant trees along the Indian River banks in Portsmouth. This fantastic effort not only helps prevent erosion but also keeps the river’s natural beauty intact while contributing to the island’s ecological health.

Another inspiring project led by the club is a bee-farming initiative. By assisting farmers in setting up sustainable bee farms, the Rotary Club of Portsmouth is empowering locals to build a reliable source of income and support the crucial role that bees play in our ecosystem and food security.
