At Hotel The Champs, we can definitely boast about our good food, and one of the persons we can thank for this is Tarnita.


The Champs has an open kitchen, which allows you to interact with the chef/cook and see how your meal is being prepared.

Tarnita started working at Hotel The Champs in 2011 as a bartender and after hurricane Maria got the opportunity to get involved in the kitchen "It happened by chance that I started working in the kitchen as direct assistant to the chef I helped with small things - mostly prepping, as time went by I got more confident and started to try new things of my own."

Tanita's passion for food started at a very young age, and she had some cooking classes in school. One of her signature dishes, and her favorite meal to cook, is the Coconut Curry Shrimp: "I love cooking with the flavors. I love curry."


When asked what she loves most about her job, "I get to meet new people from all over and cook what I know tastes good."
