Dominica is a fascinating destination that holds a special place in the hearts of many travelers. The island offers unique experiences and opportunities for exploration. In the next few blogs, we will take a closer look at Dominica through the eyes of two teenagers from the Netherlands.

Hey there! We're Yaron and Alex, two 16-year-olds from the Netherlands who recently made the journey to Dominica. Let us tell you, it was quite an adventure! The trip itself was a bit long; we ended up losing a whole day in travel time. Since Dominica doesn't have an international airport yet, we had to wait in Sint Maarten for our connecting flight. It was a bit of a wait, but we made the best of it by listening to music and playing games.

Finally arriving in Dominica at Douglas-Charles Airport, we were welcomed by the warm air and headed to our accommodation, The Champs Hotel, which is located in Portsmouth - it was about an hour's drive from the airport. Despite the late hour, we were grateful to have some food waiting for us before settling into our room.

In the morning, we were greeted by an incredible view of the Caribbean Sea from our room balcony. Our first few days at The Champs were incredibly relaxing, chilling next to the pool, allowing us to unwind and soak in the beauty of our surroundings.

The staff at The Champs are so friendly, and the food they prepare is absolutely delicious. We love the variety of dinner options, with the cooks choosing something different each evening.
At the end of our second day, we had a pretty good idea of what our itinerary for the week would look like, and we couldn't wait to start exploring.
